Hurting the Ground

This is my entry from the Bar Drag Bounty 2 on vitalmtb last year. It didn't make the cut, but I had a blast filming it and I feel it is worth re-sharing to the world. Just a little reminder to those who don't live in California of how sweet our winters can be. Oh wait, its been raining for the past 4 weeks.

Also, below is Kyle's edit filmed by Brian. It also didnt make the cut, but Kyle shreds nontheless.

Photo Friday

Well since I am a photographer and what not, what better way to share the love with a photo friday? Every friday from now on. Boom. Old times and new times, whatever I am feeling but I will give you quality shit. To start things off, I decided to post this in light of being home for winter break, gets me stoked to ride some good ol' home turf! Trevor Perelson, toboggan air at Alameda.

I Survived

The Mayans where wrong. I am still here typing on this blog on the 21st of December. As a race, they now officially suck. I, unlike the Mayans don't suck. I survived my first semester of school at Chico State. That for the record is an accomplishment. The past 5 months have been more eye opening then I ever would have imagined. Here is a pro con list of my life so far. Bad news first, I am that kind of person.

Bad
-first few months of 90 degrees, all day, everyday
-dorm food, shit gets super old real fast
-sketchy bike paths (aka rape trails)
-confusing to drive in downtown
-sketchy people at labor day float
-being broke half the time
-foriegn teachers. You no speak English??????
-puking, and lots of it

Good
-ABSOLUTE FREEDOM
-no parents
-chill people
-good riding everywhere
-Pita Pit
-laid back atmosphere
-pumptrack 2 minutes from where I live
-learn how to manage time
-party
-holloween is insanity
-see lots of funny shit
-overall lifestyle is awesome
-become pro at puking

                                          sums life up

Pump Track Exclusive

This is just a tease of what is to come. Me and Nik just fucking around, but in the future mayhem will occur. This is not polished enough for the full fledged world yet (even though anyone can see it) but get stoked to be of the first to see Kyle's backyard!

Never Thought I would See This

When someone says Marc Beaumont, I never think of steeze. That has officially changed. I think off-season moto is paying off for the "adopted" Atherton. After barely making it through all the talking in the latest 4 by 3 episode, Marc straight threw down one of the steeziest moto inspired whip/oppo-euro things I have ever seen.

"But people are gonna see this.." -Aggy

For those of you who follow slopestyle, these videos are a must see. Taylor Sage is a videographer who has been around since the sport really started progressing. He now works for a corporation (SRAM), but before that was working on his own projects and was able to get away with a lot more. These videos are around three years old and gold. So sit back and watch some quality shit!

Business man

Do yourselves the favor and read this.

Greg Minaar, is currently the most professional pro, I can think of. Not only is Minaar always a race contender, but he is also a successful business man. Just take a look at this. Basically, he wins the game of life.

Why Sam Hill is rad and you aren't

Most young kids these days, have no idea why Sam Hill is awesome. They only know of Aaron Gwin. Luckily, I started biking in 2008. The race movie of that year, was F1rst. For those that don't know, F1rst was the last Clay Porter movie that was awesome and not a giant interview of 4 riders. Back to Sam Hill. Hill was the OG of taking inside lines, and making them work. He defied the laws of turning a bike. Somehow, Hill made drifting through the inside and squaring the fuck out of every corner fast. Not only was he redefining turning, but he would also hit gaps that no one else would. Also, he did this all on flat pedals. End of the history lesson. Now watch and be educated/enlightened.

420% awesome

Buy this movie. I guarantee you, your life will be better afterward. Unless you are like me, and it makes you realize, moto is way sicker then biking. Only, because you can hit step-ups over mountains.

Whips never get old.

My First Blog Post Ever

So this is my first blog post ever.  Pretty neat, dontcha think? Nik's been bugging me about posting something cool on the blog so I figured now is as good a time as any.

Here's a video of me attempting to do a backflip off a snowbank.

Don't try to do backflips off snowbanks. They are very soft, quite slippery, and are not adequate surfaces for such daring stunts. I coulda broken my neck and died or some shit.

Pet peeve #1

One of the things that I really like to discuss are pet peeves. They are an interesting topic. You are basically trying to legitimize bitching about something that generally isn't a big deal. I am going to start with one that came up at breakfast today. In the morning, like most people, I am not that stoked. Especially, after a US history class at 8. When I get to the cafeteria, all I want is a damn bagel and cream cheese. So, I go over and make myself one. Once the painfully slow toaster, finally toasts the bagel. The next step is, slop some cream cheese on it, and be done. Unfortunately, someone thinks they are on cake wars and takes like 5 minutes to cream cheese their bagel. Seriously you are a moron, you are not being judged, this is not a contest and lastly. The smoothness of your spread is not going to effect the taste.

SOLD!!!!!!

This post, has nothing to do with the book Sold by Patricia McCormick. Which, if you are wondering, is a rather demented but educational read. Instead of talking about a book about prostitution, I am going to talk about a piece of my personally history that finally SOLD.
Back in 2010, I raced cross country in high school and actually cared. I worked at a bike shop and the owner Brian, hooked me up with his old frame and fork. It was a 2008, made in america, Yeti As-r with a carbon rear triangle. I was beyond stoked with the thing. It climbed well and descended like a champ for what it was. Long story short, I only raced it for a year and beat it pretty good. After the summer I got a Nomad and never rode it again. Its frame sat in my garage for 4 years. Finally, in the winter of 2012 it found a new home in Texas.
Great moments on the As-r

GoPro Rampage

This has got to be the dopest GoPro edit I have seen by far. Really gives you perspective on how big the shit is they are doing and how gnarly the terrain is. Actually gave me some of my daily dose of adrenaline, check it out!

Mustaches are Fucking Overrated

Too many people are obsessed with mustaches these days. They are nonsensical and trendy now.

Numba Two

Post number two goes out to one of the people I am the most stoked to have met through biking. He is a true Mac Dre fan and one of the few people that still gets hyphy on a bike, his name is Will Scharninghausen, these videos will fill you in on the rest -Nik
